Happy Easter everyone! This weekend we stayed around Oshakati to take in all it has to offer. We finally checked out the Oshakati open market. It is basically a huge area where many vendors come to sell clothing, shoes, blankets, jewelery and all kinds of food. And when I say food I mean "food." I saw pieces of raw chicken and cow. Cow heads? They also sell mopane worms (to eat). And some prepared food, mostly beef on the brai. We didn't sample any of the cuisine there, but we did have a good time walking around and checking out the traditional dresses and other homemade pieces of clothing.
Other than that, we had a very low-key weekend. We are both really looking forward to leaving Oshakati and coming home!! But first, a week in Windhoek, which should be a lot of fun. We leave today (by plane) and will spend the next seven nights there, with a possible short side trip to Sossusvlei (huge red sand dunes)! So, signing off for now. We might not have a chance to post until we get home to Kenosha, but we'll be happy to tell you all about our trip in person in June when we see most of you!!! Can't wait for the wedding!
